Just to clarify – the AGM is now on Wed 7 Oct, so in week 11. Week 12 we will not have debating simply because it’s always a crazy time of year for everyone.

The end of year party is the Saturday after the last day of class – October 17th. You can get good and drunk because you have a whole week of study leave before exams start. No excuses.

Our famous Debsoc End of Year Party is almost upon us. This year’s party will be held on the 17th of October at a venue to be confirmed. Tickets will be $15 and will go on sale soon. For the price of your ticket, there will be both some food available and a bar tab. We also need to decide a theme for this year – email ideas to sarahannewilsonnz@gmail.com by midnight on Monday and the result will be announced soon after.

Why are you reading this?? Get down to the party. It’s at Syn Bar (off Willis St) Saturday the 11th Oct at 7:30. Tickets are $10 at the door and any Debsoc member is welcome with a date or looking to find one. The key thing: the dress-up theme is what I want to be when I grow up. As the photos will show you the theme is always taken seriously and makes for a realy fun night. Come along!!

The details for our famous end of year party are now finalised. The party will be held at Syn bar, just off Willis Street and tickets are $10 which can be purchased at the AGM or from Ellen Thomson if you spot her and catch up. Partners are welcome. There will be heaps of food and heavily subsidised drinks. These parties are famous for kicking off a good exam period, and finishing off a year of debating success. The most important item of note: the compulsory dress-up theme is “What I want to be when I grow up”. This is always taken seriously so make an effort. For a bit of evidence that the costumes are followed through on, check out last year’s photos on the website from tomorrow (Thursday 2nd) evening. Nothing more to say really, except it’s a 7:30pm start and you’ll be there.

The end of year party this year will be amazing. That’s an accurate prediction given the success of last year’s “Bringing Sexy Back” theme party at the Southern Cross. The end of year party will be just after the conclusion of class at the end of the 2nd trimester. Keep a keen eye here for the dates to be finalised later in the year!
