In the end the winner of BP Pro-Am for 2009 was Frances Ratner. The team to win the final were Frances and Daniel Wilson, and Adam Goodall was named the most improved speaker. A special thanks go to Kathy Scott-Dowell and Ella Edginton for running the day very smoothly.

The first ever Debsoc Pro-Am was held today. 16 “ams” took part with 12 rotating “pros.” Thank you very much to the pros who gave up their time to help some newer debaters, and also to the awesome adjudicators – most of whom, like Fiona, Jenna and Sam, have judged at Worlds before. Thanks also to Kathy Scott-Dowell and Emily Bruce for organising it all and keeping the day to a strict and efficient timetable.

The tournament was won by Ben Moore. The most promising speaker was Daniel Jackson.
